This shoe is just crazy. It has individual toes! You look twice when somebody walks past you with these shoes. They are vibram shoes and more information for NZ is given at FiveFingers.

Here it goes:
A person goes mountain biking at China Camp one day. She parks on the side of the road near the entrance, and starts preparing for her ride: change into her biking shoes, put on her helmet, get the bike off the rack, etc. This person notices a lone shoe on the side of the road in front of them. They wonder whose it is and when they will be back for it, if they will be back for it.
This person goes for her ride. She comes back to her car. The shoe is still there.
She starts to perform the reverse of the earlier routine: bike back on rack, helmet off, muddy shirt changed. Suddenly, a car pulls over in front of her car. A man gets out of the car, walks over to the shoe, and picks it up. As he is putting it into his trunk, she calls out, "I was wondering whose shoe that was."
He answers, "Yup, I’m the moron who left his shoe on the side of the road, and then had to come back for it." She smiles. He closes the trunk, gets into the car, and drives off.
